Chinese Crested Rescue Information: The Chinese Crested is a rare breed that is generally hairless. Chinese Cresteds are playful, loving, and great with children. Rough play may irritate the skin of a Chinese Crested. Chinese Cresteds have a lot of energy and need plenty of exercise, but are well suited to apartment life. Dog sweaters are helpful to Chinese Cresteds when it is cold outside.

Chinese Crested Trivia: Chinese Cresteds come from Africa, not China. Chinese Cresteds get their name from Chinese trading ships that stopped in Africa and picked up the dogs to hunt rats on the ships. Ancient Aztecs liked to eat Chinese Cresteds. The Chinese Crested is one of only four hairless breeds in the U.S. The Chinese Crested was first recognized by the AKC in 1991
