Rescue Me ID: 17-05-05-00009Moses (male)

Chinese Crested    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Our sweet 7-year old Hairy Hairless Chinese Crested is needing a new caring & loving home. Moses has been a huge part of our family and we are sad to have to re-home him. The addition of a newborn has resulted in less time spent with him. We hate to see him neglected and would like to see him go to a home where he can get the love and attention he deserves. A home with older children, adults or an elderly couple that can give him love and attention would be the best companion for him. He's around 14-lb., gray-spotted colored, neutered, crate-trained, up-to-date on vaccinations, has no medical issues and is a pure-bred Chinese Crested. ... (Read More)Moses is a gentle loving soul that loves to snuggle and cuddle in bed and under covers. Being that he is hairless, he loves to stay warm snuggled up in a cozy blanket. He loves sunbathing in the summer months outside and actually gets a tan (gray skin turns a nice dark gray), however, attention to his soft skin is necessary. In hot summer months, sunscreen is needed to protect his soft skin. Beyond sunbathing, he enjoys taking long walks and jogs around town. He's the king of that he can see on his walk and warns others of his presence. Playing fetch is one of his favorite games followed up with a nice snuggle in a cozy warm blanket. He still has tons of energy and loves to run and play like a puppy. A fenced-in backyard would be an ideal playground to give him a safe area for play. Being the king of all that he can see, he often chases squirrels off his property, so a safe area for free open run is ideal. He'd be a great companion to someone looking for a running partner. Overall he's very gentle and kind companion devoted to his master. Moses will bring along with him all of his favorite belongings to help make the transition easier on him. He has his own hiking harness used on many camping/hiking excursions and a life jacket used on many water and river rafting trips, although he's not a fan of cold water. Being that he is hairless, he loves to stay dry and warm. He also has a car seatbelt strap that clips into the carseat seatbelt buckle to keep him safe while on the road. We've used it on many car rides and road trips as far as Florida and back. Moses enjoys road trips and curling up in a blanket in your lap during long rides. He also has a TSA approved travel bag used for our trips to bring him along on our flights. It fits on-board partially under seat. His crate is also a travel foldable crate easy to bring along on trips. Outside of that, Moses will bring with him all the basics like -- crate, bed, blankets, bowls and toys. Moses' belongings: - crate & bed - blankets & electric blanket - bed warmer pad - leash & harness - foot & water bowl - life-jacket harness - travel in-car leash - foldable travel bowl - clothes & halloween costumes & winter boots - box of toys - paperwork & health history The adoption fee we're asking for Moses is $450 to ensure he goes to a good loving home. Please have a few references ready when inquiring. Feel free to ask any further questions you may have that did not get answered here. We prefer you take him for a 2-week trial period to try him out to see how he's adjusting to you and the new environment. If after the 2-weeks you're not getting along and/or he's not adjusting well to you, we'll take him back and give full refund for the adoption fee. ----- More photos here: (Less)

lnteresting Chinese Crested Trivia Low-Cost New Jersey Spay & Neuter Clinics
Chinese Cresteds come from Africa, not China. Chinese Cresteds get their name from Chinese trading ships that stopped in Africa and picked up the dogs to hunt rats on the ships. Ancient Aztecs liked to eat Chinese Cresteds. The Chinese Crested is one of only four hairless breeds in the U.S.
